Wild Woods
About Me

I have a home within six miles of the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, to the South East of Zion's Canyon. This is a sand dunes region within a cedar and pine forest.
The air is clean and pure and the pristine drinking water comes from a 900 foot well going down to a prehistoric lake!  Evenings usually entail an indiscriminate serenade of coyotes along with spectacular sunsets at close of day.  The night-sky is spectacular with every star visible on a clear night.
I began faux painting over 20 years ago when I was living in a small town in southeastern Nevada. On a road trip to New Mexico I came upon an art gallery where the owner/artist had painted all the walls in a way that resembled old pottery. I was so enthralled with the look of it, inquired into the technique and came home and did my walls that same way. Thus began my delve into Wall Art and "painting outside the lines". This was before I’d ever heard of faux painting, before it was the popular, well-known term it is now.
I also attribute my interest in art from my great-grandfather who was an artist and interior designer from Scotland. He remodeled a castle in Scotland, by the name of Athole, and named his son, Mary's grandfather, after it.
I’m pleased to have shared these tid-bits with you. If you would like to know anything further about Wild Woods Custom Painting, please email me from the “Contact Me“ link. I would love to hear from you and will answer all my mail. I hope you will check out the photos of paint jobs and the “Art For Sale” link. I’d like you to know that I put my heart and soul into my work, love what I do and am not satisfied until you are satisfied.
In fact, your satisfaction is guaranteed!

Our upper deck, looking South-East, you can see the rim of the Grand Canyon 100 miles away.

Looking out from our southern deck
down on neighbor's property and
beyond.  100 mile views from all
directions!

Same south-facing deck.
Barnwood exterior.

An old ship's bell
announces "dinner time".
Looking for a solar
porch light.....!

Mary's herb garden with Elephant Butte seen in the background.

The west side of our house, upper deck
and water spraying on the herb garden.
We love this!

Harv & two grandaughters picking tomatos (and Sweet Peas) in the herb garden and trying to talk G'pa out of a garden rock!  Nice try.........

Eating on the upper deck and wishing for a nice rain...we got that and a beautiful rainbow afterwards!
